Kybella® in Atlanta, GA
Serving Tucker, Decatur, Chamblee, & Brookhaven, GA
What is KYBELLA®?
KYBELLA® is a synthetic formula of deoxycholic acid. This substance occurs naturally in your body and aids in the breakdown of fat ingested through diet.
How does it decrease my double chin?
When injected into specific sites in your submental or double chin area, KYBELLA® destroys the cells responsible for storing fat. This results in a marked decrease in the fullness under your chin. Once destroyed, these fat cells will not return.
Does it work for everyone?
Before recommending treatment with KYBELLA®, Dr. Hill will complete a full examination of the area and discuss your expectations to determine if this is the right solution for you. You must also be over the age of 18 to receive KYBELLA® injections.
When provided by a qualified and trained physician such as Dr. Hill, KYBELLA® is FDA-approved and considered safe and effective for the treatment of submental fat. There are some conditions that don’t mix well with KYBELLA®, however, and Dr. Hill will thoroughly review your medical history and inquire about medications you take regularly before moving forward with the treatment. You may not be a candidate for KYBELLA® therapy if you:
- Have had surgery on your face, neck, or chin
- Have had medical conditions in the neck
- Have difficulty swallowing
- Are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding
- Are taking any medications that may cause complications from KYBELLA® injections, such as blood thinners
What is the treatment like?
Using a small needle, Dr. Hill will inject KYBELLA® into multiple sites under your chin. The procedure takes 15-20 minutes and most patients report only mild, if any, discomfort during the treatment itself. You can, however, expect mild swelling, bruising, and numbness after the treatment that may last for a couple of days. Dr. Hill will recommend ways to relieve your discomfort during this after-treatment phase.
Will I need multiple treatments?
Dr. Hill will design a treatment regimen according to the distribution and amount of fat in your submental area, and your treatment goals and expectations. Treatments should occur at least one month apart and individual results may vary. You many only receive six KYBELLA® treatments, but many patients find adequate results with fewer treatments. Dr. Hill will make recommendations for the number and frequency of treatments based on her expertise and experience in treating patients with KYBELLA®.
